Not to be confused with the Platters song ‘The great pretender’, ‘connecting’ appears to be a new buzz word for the more social side of ‘networking’, even if the word itself sounds like a new age dating service.
In recent years we have seen a bit of a revival of old school camping holidays in NZ. I am uncertain as to the root of this move to being at one with nature but one could hazard a guess that the extended global economic woes that have blighted our landscape over the past few years may have something to do with it, or dare I say it the urge to escape technology for a while. For me personally camping holidays are in the blood and it has little or nothing to do with cutting our holiday cloth to suit what we have in the holiday coffers. I can thank my folks for my love of all things canvas and a trait that I wouldn’t begrudge them for in the least.
